Oulton Park, The Gold Cup, 28th August 2017.
With an early mornings qualifying, Jack managed an incredible fast 3 laps giving him a respectable time for pole. Upon starting a new lap the Falcon unfortunately developed a problem. Bringing the car back into the pits it was decided to retire the car from the session. With the Falcon now being assessed, the team discovered an oil pump drive failure, and for safety reasons the engine was changed. With unfortunately having to miss the first race start time, our team were working non stop all day to get the new engine fitted and ready for the final race of the day. With the DNS for the first race unfortunately resulted in Jack having to start at the back of the grid for race 2.
With a great start from P27 Jack battled through the pack and by the end of the first lap he was running well in 8th!! Throughout the race the Falcon continued to work its way up the grid, finally passing the leader - James Clarke in his Lotus Cortina! Jack continued with great pace and increased the lead to an impressive 13.3 seconds! Crossing the finish line P1 was an amazing treat for the team!
